Cryotherapy Skin Lesion Removal

Safe & Professional Removal of Benign Skin Lesions

Cryotherapy is a safe and effective treatment for many common benign skin lesions, including skin tags, milia, cherry angiomas (red spots), age spots and certain warts. Treatments take place in my private beauty studio in Lyde Green, Bristol using professional CryoIQ technology.

Cryotherapy works by applying extreme cold directly to the lesion, causing the unwanted tissue to naturally break down and fall away during the healing process. Most treatments take only a few minutes.

Cryotherapy may be suitable for:

✔ Skin Tags   ✔ Milia   ✔ Cherry Angiomas.  ✔ Age Spots. ✔ Seborrhoeic Keratosis    ✔ Warts & Verrucae

Some pigmented lesions may require medical screening before treatment.

What Are Skin Tags?

Skin tags are one of the most common benign skin lesions and are estimated to affect around 50% of adults.

They are small, soft pieces of skin that commonly appear:

  • On the neck
  • Underarms
  • Under the breasts
  • Groin area
  • Eyelids

They are harmless but can catch on clothing, jewellery or shaving and many clients choose to remove them for comfort or cosmetic reasons.

What Is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy uses precise freezing technology to target unwanted tissue while minimising damage to the surrounding skin.

Benefits include:

  • Fast treatment
  • Minimal discomfort
  • No cutting or stitches
  • Little downtime
  • Low risk of scarring
  • Precise treatment application
  • Suitable for many common benign lesions

Most lesions gradually darken, dry and naturally fall away over the following days or weeks as fresh skin forms underneath.

Cryotherapy FAQs

  • What is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is a treatment that uses controlled freezing technology to safely remove unwanted benign skin lesions such as skin tags, milia, cherry angiomas and pigmentation.

The extreme cold causes the targeted tissue to break down naturally while minimising damage to the surrounding skin.

  • What skin concerns can be treated?

    Cryotherapy may be suitable for:

    Skin Tags

    Milia

    Cherry Angiomas (red spots)

    Age Spots / Sun Damage

    Seborrhoeic Keratosis

    Warts & Verrucae

    Some benign pigmented lesions*

*Certain lesions may require medical screening before treatment.

  • Does Cryotherapy hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as:

    Cold

    Sharp

    Tingly

Mildly uncomfortable for a few seconds

Treatment is very quick and discomfort usually settles rapidly afterwards.

  • How long does treatment take?

Most appointments take around 15–30 minutes depending on:

    The type of lesion

    The size

    The number of areas treated

The actual freezing treatment itself usually only lasts a few seconds per lesion.

  • What happens after treatment?

    The treated area may:

    Become red or slightly swollen

    Form a blister

    Darken

Develop a small scab or crust

This is completely normal and part of the healing process.

The lesion will gradually dry up and naturally fall away as the skin heals underneath.

  • How long does healing take?

Healing varies depending on the lesion and the area treated.

    Typical healing times:

    Small lesions: around 1–2 weeks

Larger lesions: up to 3–6 weeks

The new skin may initially appear pink before settling.

  • Will I scar?

Cryotherapy is designed to minimise damage to surrounding skin and generally heals very well.

However, as with any skin treatment, there is always a small risk of:

    Temporary redness

    Pigment changes

    Mild textural change

    Scarring (rare)

Following aftercare correctly helps reduce risks.

  • Can I wear makeup afterwards?

If the treated area is on the face, it is best to avoid makeup directly over the area for the first 24 hours where possible.

  • Can I go in the sun afterwards?

You should avoid excessive sun exposure during healing and use SPF 50 daily on treated areas.

This is especially important for pigmented lesions to help prevent pigmentation changes.

  • How many treatments will I need?

Many lesions respond well in a single session.

However, some larger or deeper lesions may require additional treatments for best results.

  • Can all moles be treated?

    No.

Suspicious or undiagnosed lesions cannot be treated cosmetically.

If there is any uncertainty, you may be asked to obtain medical screening before treatment.

  • Is Cryotherapy safe?

Cryotherapy is a well-established treatment that has been used for many years to treat benign skin lesions.

At Jax-Glam Beauty, treatments are carried out using professional cryotherapy equipment in a clean, private salon environment.

  • Do you treat skin cancer?

    No.

I am not a doctor and cannot diagnose or treat skin cancer.
