I’ll demonstrate techniques on a professional mannequin training head first, then guide you as you practise styling your own hair.
Hair Styling Lesson (Hair Down) – 1 Hour
Perfect for learning everyday styling techniques such as soft curls, waves, straightening or adding volume.
You'll learn how to use styling tools correctly and how to achieve long-lasting results.
Updo Hair Lesson – 1.5 Hours
Ideal for learning elegant up-dos for weddings, events or special occasions.
This longer session covers sectioning, pinning techniques and creating styles that stay in place all day.
Wig Styling Lesson – 1 Hour
Learn how to confidently style and wear a wig, including positioning, securing and styling for a natural look.
Suitable for anyone wanting guidance with wigs, including drag performers, cross-dressers and transgender clients.

What should I bring to my lesson?
Please bring all of your makeup and brushes — the more the better.
I genuinely don’t mind if you arrive with a full makeup bag (or even a suitcase!).
The aim of your lesson is to maximise what you already own. Together we’ll go through:
• Which brushes to use for what
• Which colours truly suit you
• What’s working well
• What may be expired or no longer serving you
You’ll also have full access to my professional kit during your session, so you can explore new shades, textures and techniques alongside your own products.
If we discover items you no longer need, I regularly donate pre-loved products via Toiletries Amnesty, helping you declutter guilt-free while supporting a great cause.
Are lessons suitable for beginners?
Absolutely.
Many clients are complete beginners. Lessons are tailored to your starting point.
Can I book more than one lesson type at once?
Yes — and many clients do.
Some book a makeup lesson followed by skincare or hair styling to upgrade their full routine.
If you’re a beginner, I often recommend a Makeup Lesson – Follow Up session.
This gives you time to practise at home before returning to fine-tune technique, ask questions and build long-term confidence.
Learning makeup is a skill — and like any skill, it improves with guided practice.
Do you offer lessons for men?
Yes. I offer Gender-Affirming Makeup Lessons specifically for clients assigned male at birth who would like support feminising their features and learning how to apply makeup confidently.
Sessions are private, supportive and tailored entirely to your goals — whether you are at the beginning of your journey or refining your look.
All lessons take place in a calm, inclusive and judgement-free environment.
How do group lessons work?
Group lessons are priced per person and structured to allow personalised guidance for each guest.
Sessions include 2 hours for the first person, with 30 minutes added per additional guest to ensure individual attention throughout.
Due to the size of my private salon, group lessons are limited to 5 people. For larger bookings, a mobile service may be available— please contact Jax to discuss options.
