Do you want younger and smooth skin ? Treat yourself to Dermaplaning exfoliating facial

Jackie Fussell • Nov 10, 2021

Dermaplaning is a procedure that exfoliates your skinand gets rid of dirt and vellus hair ( better known as peach fuzz). Using a dermatome (scalpel) back and forth to scrape off the top layer of dead skin, leaving your skin smooth and youthful!

Benefits

  • Removing dead skin triggers cell and collagen regeneration, restoring youthful appearance to your face by evening your skin tone and texture, and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

  • You’ll have healthier, brighter skin that looks and feels smoother; many people describe the effect as having a soft glow!

  • Derma-planing differs from other exfoliation techniques because it also removes Vellus hair, the fine hair on your face that often holds irritating oils and dirt. Removing it soothes your skin and reduces the frequency of breakouts.

  • Smooth, hair-free skin means your makeup goes on smoother and stays on for longer - great for a special occasion or your wedding!

  • Derma-planing also boosts the efficacy of your skin care products by allowing them to touch live, healthy skin and penetrate deeper. And you won’t need to use as much product since none is wasted sitting on dead skin or getting absorbed into hair!

  • Dermaplaning is a quick, easy and a pain-free procedure.

  • It improves complexion for all skin types. It’s especially effective for rough and dry skin; removing dead skin cells and hair really opens up your pores allowing moisturiser to penetrate more deeply.

  • Dermaplaning is an excellent choice for women who are pregnant or nursing because it’s completely chemical free.

  • It does not make the hair grow back thicker and darker.

  • It can help significantly lighten post inflammatory scars from past acne.

Luxury Dermaplane Facial - 60 minutes

  • Initial cleanse - The skin is cleansed to remove make-up, dirt and grease.
  • Skin Analysis – We discuss your skin type and perform a examination of the skin a to consider the products that will compliment your skin.
  • Deep cleanse - This is the second cleanse, in which the skin is given a more thorough cleanse using deeper slower massage movements. Deep cleansing assists the penetration of blood and lymph into the hair follicle and dissolves make-up and dirt. It also softens and loosens skin blockages and helps remove impurities and pollution.
  • Steam - A special steamer machine will billow warm steam over the face for several minutes. This will soften blackheads making them easier to remove and open pores, helping to loosen any build up of dirt for a deeper cleanse. It also promotes circulation. The combination of warm steam and an increase in perspiration dilates your blood vessels and increases circulation.
  • Dermaplane - Apply serum before exfoliating the skin with a surgical scalpel, removing vellus hair and trapped dirt and oils, This gives deeper product penetration, reduced appearance of fine lines and scarring, and fresher, clearer and smoother skin.
  • Face mask - A luxury mask is applied to suit your skin type and concerns
  • Massage - A lymphatic drainage massage will compliment the treatment as it will reduce puffiness, help eliminate toxins, leave the skin glowing and you relaxed.
  • Serum and Moisturise (SPF30) - Skin will be drier following this treatment now your skin cells are very youthful, so ensure you continue to moisturise well and use SPF.

Between 4 and 6 sessions are recommended, at least 2 weeks apart, as a course to get your skin in great condition.

Aftercare Advice:

It's normal for the skin to look red or a bit rough a few days following treatment, though this should fade quickly. Spots or blemishes may appear after dermaplaning as the skin has been cleaned and impurities have been drawn from the layers of the skin. Skin will be drier following this treatment so moisturiser well.

  • The products should be left for around 12 hours to get the maximum benefit so avoid getting your face wet, swimming or steam during this time.
  • Avoid the sun immediately after the treatment and for the next 7 days as the top layer of dead skin cells will have been removed, therefore making the skin particularly sensitive to sunlight. Don't forget to protect the skin from UV light on a daily basis to help prevent skin damage.
  • Avoid heat treatments for 24-48 hours
  • Avoid exfoliating products such as AHA whilst receiving treatment
  • Keep your skin clean and moisturised.
  • Use moisturiser daily to reduce any peeling that may occur.
  • It is recommended not to apply make up or self-tan for up to 12 hours after the treatment to allow the skin to fully absorb the products used during the treatment, It also allows time for the skin to ‘breathe’ so as not to clog the pores.

Try to avoid drinking caffeine or alcohol where possible as these are highly dehydrating to the skin, making the skin dry and dull.

Drinking plenty of water (1.5 - 2 litres a day). This will greatly improve the skins complexion and help rid the body of toxins, giving a healthy glow.
