Natural Bridal Beauty: The Ultimate Guide to Pre-Wedding Beauty Treatments

Jackie Fussell • Feb 07, 2024

Your wedding day is one of the most special occasions of your life, and as a bride-to-be, you want to look and feel your absolute best. In the months leading up to your big day, investing time in pre-wedding beauty treatments can enhance your natural beauty, leaving you with a radiant and flawless glow.   In this guide, we'll go through the list of beauty treatments to schedule in on the run-up to your wedding day.

Creating a beauty treatment timeline leading up to your wedding day is crucial to ensure you look and feel your best on the big day. Below is a suggested timeline to help you plan your pre-wedding beauty treatments:

6-12 Months Before:

Skincare

Consider schedule a consultation with a skincare professional to assess your skin and create a personalised skincare routine.  Or read my tips here.  You may want to book some regular Facial Treatments to address specific skin concerns. Consider treatments like dermaplaning or chemical peels for deep exfoliation - if you are going to try new treatments make sure do this well in advance of your wedding day.

Hair.  Consult with your hairstylist to discuss your desired wedding day hairstyle. Plan for any necessary colour treatments or haircuts to achieve your ideal look.

Teeth Whitening Start a whitening regimen, either professional or at-home, for a bright and confident smile.

3-6 Months Before

Hair Care.  Schedule regular trims and deep conditioning treatments to maintain healthy hair. Arrange your wedding hair and makeup trial with your stylist/artist.  If you feel you would like fuller hair, consider clip in hair extensions.

Body Treatments.  Start incorporating body treatments like massages, scrubs, and wraps to relax and rejuvenate your skin.

Nail Care.  Begin regular manicures and pedicures. Experiment with different nail colours to find the perfect shade for your wedding day.

Fitness Routine.  If you haven't already, establish a fitness routine to boost your overall well-being. Choose activities that you enjoy, whether it's yoga, pilates, or cardio workouts.

2-3 Months Before

Eyebrow & Eyelashes Well-groomed brows and long, luscious lashes can enhance your natural beauty. Schedule appointments for eyebrow wax/threading and tinting, and explore lash lift and tint options for a wide-eyed, glamorous look that will last throughout your wedding celebration and honeymoon!  This can enhance your overall appearance and contribute to a more refined and put-together bridal look.

Spray Tan Trial:  If you're aiming for a sun-kissed glow without the harmful effects of UV rays, consider a professional  spray tan. Schedule a trial session well in advance to ensure you achieve the desired shade and test the colour and ensure it complements your wedding dress.  Arrange this a few days before your makeup trial so you can check the makeup with your tanned skin tone.

Hair & Makeup Trial: allow enough time to experiment with various styles and make any necessary changes. It also ensures that your chosen look is fresh in your mind, and any adjustments can be tweaked closer to the wedding day.  Find out what to expect on your trial here

1 Month Before

Finalise Skincare Routine - Confirm your skincare routine and continue using recommended products. Avoid trying new products too close to the wedding day to prevent any adverse reactions.

Final Hair Appointment: Schedule a final haircut or colour touch-up to ensure your hair looks fresh and vibrant.

1 Week Before

Manicures and Pedicures: Don't forget about your hands and feet! Regular manicures and pedicures will keep your nails in top condition. Consider trying a gel or shellac manicure for long-lasting results. Choose a timeless and elegant nail colour that complements your overall wedding look.

Eye Treatments: Brow Tidy, Tint & Lash Lift - Well-groomed eyebrows can make a significant difference in photographs, especially with the high-resolution cameras often used during weddings. A professionally waxed brow can provide a smooth canvas for makeup application, ensuring that your makeup artist can create a flawless and well-balanced look for your big day.

Hair Removal: Especially if you are jetting off on honeymoon, treat yourself to a wax to remove any unwanted hairs and leave your legs, underarms or bikini silky smooth!

1-2 Days Before
Spray Tan:
Your final spray tan for a natural, sun-kissed glow - consider finding a spray tan expert who uses rapid /express solutions - so you can shower a few hours after your tan to avoid any potential issues while your tan develops.

1 Day Before:

Relaxation and Rest:Take some time to relax and get a good night's sleep. Avoid any last-minute beauty treatments to prevent potential skin reactions.

Your Wedding Day!!!

Simple Skincare Routine: Stick to a simple skincare routine to ensure your skin is clean and moisturised.

Hair and Makeup: Schedule professional hair and makeup services to create your desired bridal look.

Enjoy the Moment:  Take a deep breath, enjoy the day, and embrace the beauty you've cultivated in the months leading up to your wedding.

Remember, this timeline is a general guide, and adjustments can be made based on your specific needs and preferences. Consult with your beauty professionals to create a personalise plan tailored to you and your wedding timeline.

Embarking on a journey of pre-wedding beauty treatments is not just about looking good but also feeling confident and radiant on your special day. Plan ahead, consult with professionals, and enjoy the process of enhancing your natural beauty. With a well-thought-out beauty regimen, you'll walk down the aisle with a glow that reflects the joy and excitement of the moment - to your beautiful journey to the altar!

Are you planning your wedding and wondering why anything to do with a wedding is so much more expensive? Weddings are celebrations of love and commitment for the newlyweds to celebrate with all their family and friends. When you start to plan your wedding you might become very surprised at all the costs involved. The wedding industry is a multi-billion pound business that thrives on selling the idea of the perfect wedding. From the dress, to the venue, to the flowers; every aspect of a wedding comes with a price tag. However, these costs go far beyond the actual day of the wedding, from communicating with the bride, preparing for the trial, and ensuring the mobile kit is sufficiently stocked with quality products that will survive through the tears and kisses on a wedding day to working hygienically including constantly cleaning brushes! I know on the surface it’s easy to think all we do is show up for a few hours to pin some hair and apply a bit of makeup... but the costs of running a successful bridal hair and makeup business is so much more than that. So why do wedding hair and makeup artists charge so much for their services? Read below to find out what it takes for freelance wedding hair and makeup artists to run a successful business.
