BrowSculpt Eyebrow Lamination Aftercare

Brow lamination is one of the hottest eyebrow treatments out there right now. With its ability to manipulate brow hairs into your desired position, it’s no wonder that brow lovers can’t get enough of the results. However, to maintain laminated brows you need to ensure that you’re following the correct aftercare. Our easy-to-follow brow lamination aftercare tips will ensure that you get the very best results, every time

How to look after HD Brows in the first 24/48 hours after treatment?

As part of your eyebrow lamination aftercare, it is crucial that you:

  • Avoid getting the brow area wet, or coming into contact with water for 24 hours
  • Avoid contact with direct sunlight, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for the next 48 hours
  • Avoiding excessive rubbing or touching your brows for 24 hours
  • Use brow conditioning treatment.

We also recommend that you follow these guidelines in the run up to and the days after your BrowSculpt treatment:

  • Avoid using exfoliating (be it AHA, BHA or scrubs) and anti-ageing skincare around the brow area for three days either side of your treatment.
  • Have a patch test 48 hours before, if it is your first treatment.
  • Carried out before, or 2 weeks after Botox and Fillers treatments
  • If you have had a Facial Peels you must wait 2 weeks after as your skin will be sensitive.
  • Avoid fake tanning products (including gradual tan) on the face for three days either side of your treatment, as it can discolour the eyebrow tint (unless you’re after khaki coloured brows)
  • Your stylist will apply some make up at the end of your treatment, however you should avoid applying any further heavy make up (foundations, etc) on the area around the brow for 24 hours

How do I keep my brows in shape after brow lamination?

Brow lamination does not permanently set your hairs in your desired, brushed up position. It breaks down the bonds in your hair so that you can easily manipulate them into the look you want. All you’ll need to do is brush them back into place with a spoolie brush in the morning to get them back to that fluffy finish – no product required. These results will last for 6-8 weeks.

To really enhance laminated brows and maintain that freshly laminated look right up to your next appointment, an ultra-strong eyebrow gel like Brow Glue is a must have.

Can I get my laminated brows wet?

You should avoid getting your brows wet for the first 24 hours after your treatment. Coming into contact with water could interfere with the lamination process and impact the longevity of your treatment. Avoid swimming pools and baths for 24 hours and be extra careful in the shower and when washing your face (avoiding if possible).

Can I wear makeup after brow lamination?

Your stylist will apply some make up to complete your BrowSculpt treatment. After that, we recommend that you avoid applying any heavy make up around the brow (such as foundation or concealer) for 24 hours after. The hair follicles can remain open for a while after hair removal, so if you are prone to sensitivity or breakouts, you may find that heavy make up could clog the pores.

Can I go on a sunbed after brow lamination?

After hair removal, the skin can be left sensitive and prone to irritation from heat. For this reason, you should avoid sunbeds for at least 48 hours after your brow lamination treatment.

How can I remove brow lamination?

Brow lamination is a chemical process, similar to a lash lift or hair perm, so is not something that can be removed. However, the hairs are not fixed in place so if you don’t like the brushed up position, you can simply brush them back down with a spoolie brush and they will stay in place all day. The results will fade after 6-8 weeks and your brows will return to their natural growth pattern.

What do you put on eyebrows after lamination?

It is strongly recommended that you apply a conditioning serum twice daily after brow lamination to maintain healthy, hydrated eyebrow hairs. You wouldn’t undergo a chemical treatment on your hair without conditioning and caring for it, and your brows should be no different. The HD Brows Tint Lock Serum is ideal as it not only strengthens and conditions the hairs, but also prolongs the wear of your eyebrow tint.

Can I brush my brows after brow lamination?

You should avoid brushing or touching your brows for the first 24 hours, but after you can absolutely brush them. In fact, it’s encouraged. You don’t need a special brow lamination brush; just a quick brush through with your good old spoolie brush in the morning to keep your brows in your desired position.

Can I wash laminated brows?

You should avoid your brows coming into contact with water or steam for 24 hours after your treatment. What happens if you do get your brows wet? It can impact the lamination process, meaning you don’t get as great results as you expected. It’s only for 24 hours, so do try your best.

How do I sleep after brow lamination?

Laminated brows might look messy after sleeping but don’t worry, that’s completely normal. The hairs are not fixed in place so can move around, however a quick brush through when you wake up will get them back into your desired position.

What products should I use after brow lamination?

Brow lamination is a chemical process, so it’s important that you use products that care for and protect the brow hairs, just as you would with your hair. Conditioning serums such as the HD Brows Tint Lock Serum will not only strengthen and nourish the hairs, but also prolong the wear of your eyebrow tint.

To help maintain that freshly laminated look until your next appointment, an ultra-strong eyebrow gel like Brow Glue is an ideal product to have.

How can I stop my eyebrows growing too fast?

If you find you get a lot of re-growth around your brow shape in between appointments, you can use serums to stop eyebrows growing out as fast. The HD Brows Re-Growth Minimiser softens hairs to minimise their appearance. Simply apply a thin layer onto clean skin once or twice daily to areas of undesired re-growth.

Can I fill in my brows after brow lamination?

Yes, but not for the first 24 hours. Your Stylist will wax and/or thread your brows as part of the treatment and the follicles will remain open afterwards. Applying additional products around the brow area during this period may cause irritation, including spots and bumps. After 24 hours, feel free to apply whatever products you like to fill in your brows. After brow lamination, clear gels and fine tipped pencils work really nicely to keep that soft, natural and fluffy finish.
