Stuck in a makeup rut? Want to feel beautiful again? Here are the Makeup Tips You Need To Know

I’m excited to introduce my evening makeup classes, from doing my first class several weeks ago I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to tell you all the top makeup tips to make sure your make up lasts all day and how to make the most of your skin care routine.

During the makeup classes I ask everyone to take off their existing makeup and prep our sking, so we can practice lots of new techniques and it’s also a great opportunity to learn how to take off your makeup properly for every evening of the week. We used Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, pouring a little bit on several pads, when you take your make up off its very important to scrub and rub and it ruins your skin so remember to be delicate!

Next we thought we could treat our faces to little mini massages, we used two fingers and started in the middle of our faces and pushed the skin upwards just like your making a smiley face, you can do the exact same movement for your chin and nose. It’s so easy and quick you could treat your face any night of the week.

Exfoliation is a really important step, when you add a little bit of your product on a cotton pad and work into your skin using circle motions. This gives you a much better clean, onces you have gone over all of your face simply just remove any excess exfoliator.

Once we’ve exfoliated we made sure we mosituresed, one main tip that I have is start with a little amount over your face and then you could always add more. When adding any under eye cream i would also suggest using your ring finger rubbing the cream from the inside out.

We then moved onto the fun part of playing with all the makeup in our makeup bags.

Its always really easy to look to closely into the mirror when you are applying your foundation but during your day to day life who looks at you that close up?

We firstly put highlighter under our eyes and under our eyebrows to give them more of a defined shape.

Many people have multiple foundations, its okay to use more than one type on your face, depending on what type of coverage you want in that paticular area. Always use a flat foundation brush as you will use more product as if you were to use a fluffy brush and waste a lot. Some people may find they have a slight foundation line around the sides of their face or down there neck but that’s no problem because if you just rub a little bit of moisturiser into the line is will blend into your skin nicely!

We next move onto the eyebrows - its easier to work from the top down.

I always like to enhance the arch in my brow so i always use a creamy highlighter pencil under the arch to make it more defined, then i use my ring finger to blend it all together but dabbing.

Once that step is completed we talked about filling, it all depends on what type of look you are going for. Use an eyebrow pencil to define the lines as needed. We then filled any patches with eyebrow powder, once you have finished we then used eyebrow mascara to make sure it all stays in perfect shape.

There are many different brushes people use for eye shadow but my top tip for you guys would be to use a flat brush and smaller blending brush. We started with an eyeshadow cream and we applied it across our whole eyelids. Next you can start applying the powder, use the light shades on the inside of your eye and the darker shades on the outside of your eyes. With the blending brush, blend the two shades together. If you are unsure with how the colours look together a fun saying to always remember - If in doubt blend out!!

Once you are happy with your eyeshadow look the next step would be eyeliner, one mistake I’ve seen many people do it try to apply their eyeliner in one long line. It’s much easier and you’ll get a better finish if you do little by little. Whilst you’re applying your eyeliner if you see its slightly uneven its not problem, just grab a cotton bud and run it along your lash line and blend it out slightly by fluffing. The final step to finishing your perfect eyes is the mascara, always wiggle from the base of your lashes up and never wear waterproof mascara unless you are going to a wedding and you’ll do more damage to your lashes trying to get it all off.

Everybody uses different products for their lips however I use lip liners, just like mascara I start from the outside of our lips and work the way in and I still used the liner to fill the lip with colour. Then I add a little bit of lip balm to give it a bit of a shine, then my look is finally ready!

I hope this has given you some top tips on how to apply your day to day makeup. If you want to learn some more tips please feel free to contact me to see when my next makeup class is available on ************
