Learn to do your makeup like a pro!

Makeup Lessons for everyone

I believe that everyone is beautiful in their own self, and should be able and comfortable to express themselves without judgement. I aim to provide a welcoming and safe environment for everyone, including members of the LGBTQ+ community to learn about and experiment with makeup.

I have had the pleasure of providing makeup lessons with both Transgender and non-binary clients and find it really rewarding helping delegates become more skilled and confident to enhance who they are.

Makeup should be fun and empowering, and is a powerful tool that can be used to highlight one's unique beauty and identity and help us become more confident with our appearance. I enjoy helping people to become more confident in themselves and learn how to make the most out of their features, and that's why I offer makeup lessons.

The lessons will cover the basics of makeup application, as well as tips and tricks to get the most out of your current makeup bag. Whether you're just starting out or you've been doing your own makeup for years and are stuck in a rut, you'll walk away from these makeup lessons with some new knowledge!

My lessons are designed to be fun and informative, and I hope that everyone who attends will leave feeling confident and beautiful. I know that many people in the LGBTQ+ community unfortunately have a hard time finding makeup products and lessons in a comfortable setting, so I am so excited to offer these 1-2-1 lessons to teach you how to enhance your natural features and give you the confidence to express your individual style.

These lessons will cover a variety of topics, including:

  • How to find the right makeup products for your skin type
  • How to apply makeup products properly
  • How to create different makeup looks

Skin preparation

  • How to remove your makeup properly
  • Cleanse tone and moisturise

Makeup application

  • Primer, Foundation & concealer,
  • Eyebrows,
  • Eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara,
  • Powder, contour and blush
  • Lip liner and lipstick

What you’ll need to bring:

  • Yourself and maybe a friend?
  • The willingness to try new techniques
  • Any makeup and brushes you own

Step by step I will demonstrate how to apply each makeup stage, making sure you have plenty of time to try out the techniques and allow time for me to give you individual tips and pointers specific to your unique face shape including eye shape, skin type and skin tone.

Together we will build the look to create an everyday makeup look, also discussing how to adjust the look to make it suit any occasion you may be attending. We will focus on making sure you are getting the most out of your makeup kit, have the right products for your style and budget and get that long lasting finish with the right techniques – eliminating the need for touch ups!

By the end of the session I aim to make you feel more confident on how to apply your products whilst also not being overwhelmed when buying new beauty products. Most importantly I aim to make you feel happier and more confident with your natural beauty, as well as how to enhance or distract any features.

Here’s what Maddie (a recent delegate) said about the lesson:

What did you enjoy about the lesson?

I really enjoyed the one to one lesson and being able to ask questions and tips on how to apply the products correctly. Also utilising the kit and products I already have.

What didn't you enjoy about the lesson?

Only that I wish I’d had more time.

What could be done to improve the lesson?

I don’t think there is anything really. Anything I needed to ask, advice and list of extra products used I was able to get from Jackie without any problems with great communication and true professionalism.

Do you have any other comments/feedback you wish to share?

I found Jax Glam through searching for LGBTQ+ friendly makeup services and as a member felt very welcome. Jackie was so friendly, helpful and very understanding which made me really relaxed. Arriving without makeup made me nervous but that soon changed as we chatted and started the lesson. When we had finished I was overcome with emotions after seeing myself in the mirror looking like the woman I’ve always wanted to be. Jackie is a true professional and I would highly recommend anyone who wishes to learn more or use her services.

I hope that you will join us for a lesson very soon and walk away feeling confident and gorgeous!..
